Creating recipes:
- Open the app and select the Meals shortcut in the navigation menu at the bottom.
- Select the Recipe Book button (it has a book icon), then select Add Recipe.
- Recipes can be created manually or imported via URL:
- To create it manually, enter a name and at least one tag. (Tags are categories used to help you find recipes quickly and help the app generate a meal plan.) Ingredients and instructions are optional, making it easy to add your family’s meal ideas quickly and come back later to add details.
- To use a URL, select Import from URL in the top right corner. Paste the URL into the text box with Import URL and select the upload button next to it. The app will fill in the name, ingredients, and instructions from the web page you used*. You still need to add at least one tag.
- In either case, ingredients and instructions are added in large text fields, where a new line will be a new ingredient or instruction. Note: The app will also do its best to read measurements into their own place, but it’s difficult to do perfectly and may need editing after the recipe is created.
- Add any notes you’d like, then select a meal icon to represent the recipe.
- Select Add.
*The web page must contain a readable recipe. If it doesn’t, you’ll see an error message and will need to put in the recipe manually.
Adding meals:
- Open the app and select the Meals shortcut in the navigation menu at the bottom.
- Select the day of the month you’d like to plan a meal, then Add Meal.
- Select Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Other; each type will appear in a different color to help you read your plan more easily.
- Enter the meals’ name. If you want it connected to a recipe, select that recipe from the drop-down menu. You’ll notice that a few of your recipes appear in a drop-down before you start typing. These are random suggestions to help you think of meal ideas.
- Select Add.
Note: If you want to edit a meal, just select it.
