We’re always improving the Family Tools app with new features, fixes, and performance enhancements. To make sure you have the best experience, it’s important to update to the latest version whenever a new release is available.
Automatic Updates
- Mobile (iOS & Android): If you downloaded Family Tools from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, updates are typically installed automatically when they are released.
- Web (PWA Version): The web app automatically updates in the background. The next time you refresh or reopen the app, you’ll be on the latest version.
Updating Manually
If your device hasn’t updated automatically, you can manually check for updates:
On iOS (Apple App Store)
- Open the App Store on your device.
- Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down to see available updates.
- If Family Tools appears, tap Update.
On Android (Google Play Store)
- Open the Google Play Store on your device.
- Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Manage apps & device.
- Under “Updates available,” look for Family Tools and tap Update.
On the Web (PWA Version)
- Refresh your browser window to load the newest version.
- If you’ve installed Family Tools as a PWA, simply close and reopen the app to apply updates.
Live Updates Inside the App
For small updates Family Tools uses live updates to automatically update the app in the background. However, updates may not apply right away if:
- You haven’t used the app recently.
- The app remains open without being closed and reopened.
To ensure a live update occurs:
- Open the app and use it for at least 60 seconds.
- Close the app completely.
- Reopen the app — the update should now apply.
- (Optional) Check the Settings screen to confirm the version number has changed, indicating the update was successful.
Best Practice
To ensure smooth updates:
- Keep your device’s operating system up to date.
- Enable automatic app updates in your device settings.
- Refresh the web/PWA app regularly to make sure you’re on the latest version.
