Note: This video moves a bit fast, but you can pause and replay it to see what you need to.
Here’s a step-by-step description:
- Open the app and select the Meals shortcut in the navigation menu at the bottom
- You will need to have recipes created in the Recipe Book. If you’ve done that, skip to #3.
- Select Recipe Book, then select Add Recipe to create a recipe. Each recipe must at least have a name and a tag. After adding these things, select Add.
- Create as many recipes as you’d like to use for your meal plan, then select the calendar icon to return to the meal calendar.
- Select the clipboard icon at the top right of the calendar.
- Select the range of days you want to use for your meal plan.
- Use the drop-down to select what kind of meal you’re planning. Your availability settings will be saved separately for each meal type.
- The generator relies on the tags you’ve created for your recipes, and allows you to change the availability of each tag for each day of the week. The question mark next to Availability will explain these availability options in detail, but here is a summary:
- The arrow means this tag will be prioritized for that weekday. (First consideration)
- The checkmark means this tag can be chosen for that weekday. (Average consideration)
- The dash means this tag won’t be chosen for that weekday unless the recipe includes another tag with higher consideration. (Occasional consideration)
- The cancel circle means this tag won’t be chosen for that weekday regardless of other tags on the recipe. (No consideration)
- Go through each tag and decide how often the meal generator should consider it for each weekday. You can tap/click each weekday individually, or you can tap/click the tag’s name to change every weekday.
- For example, if you always want Mexican food on Fridays, set the Fri under your Mexican tag to the arrow. If you never want dessert to be planned as a meal, set all the weekdays under your Dessert tag to the cancel circle by tapping/clicking the name Dessert.
- After you’ve set the availability of each tag, select the Generate Plan button.
Notes:
- If you already have meals planned for any of the selected days, the app will ask if you want to delete those meals or skip them.
- If you don’t have enough recipes to fill the plan according to your settings, the app will let you know.
- If you want to change anything about the meal plan, you can select an event to edit or delete it
