How to Use Widgets

Widgets are customizable pieces of the dashboard that show information from the app’s tools for quick access and streamlined organization.

Widget Types

  • Chores: See a list of the family’s chores that can be checked off right from the Dashboard. This can be filtered by day and by family member.
  • Homework: See a list of the family’s homework that can be checked off right from the Dashboard. This can be filtered by day and by family member.
  • Todos: See a list of the family’s todos that can be checked off right from the Dashboard. This can be filtered by day and by family member.
  • Favorited Lists: Links to all lists marked by a star will appear here.
  • Favorited Notes: Links to all notes marked by a star will appear here.
  • Meals: See upcoming meals with links to their recipes.
  • Recipe Search: Search for recipe names and tags right from the Dashboard.
  • Favorited Plans: Links to all plans marked by a star will appear here.
  • Family Members: See a list of family members, their icons, their levels, and a link to edit their permissions

How to Add Widgets

  1. On the Dashboard, scroll down until you see a button that says Add Widget
  2. Use the drop-down to select what widget you want to add
  3. Select a color
  4. Select Add

Widgets can be moved by grabbing (touching and holding) the double vertical lines (||) and moving them to the desired spot.

To remove a widget, select the gear icon on it and select Remove.

You’ll note that each widget also has a chain link icon. Use this to go to the widget’s source. (i.e. The Favorited Lists link will take you to Lists.)

Widgets Flexibility

Tip: You can add the same type of widget more than once. For example, you might create a separate Chore widget for each child or set up an Events widget just for each family member.
