A wish list is a special list that includes fields for an item’s price and a URL for where to find it. These lists can be shared with others using a link. Anyone with the link can look at and check off items, but the family won’t see any checkmarks. This lets everyone with the link see what has been checked off while still preserving surprises for the family. (If you want to see the checkmarks, just use the public link.)
Creating a Wish List:
- Open the app and select the Lists shortcut in the navigation menu at the bottom
- Select Add Lists in the top right corner. Enter the wish list’s name and change the first drop-down to Wish List.
- Assign it to at least one family member and select Create. The app will create it and automatically take you to it.
- Enter the item’s name. You can also add a price and a URL if you want.
- Wish lists start with default sections to help a user rank items. If you’d like to add a section, select the Section drop-down, enter the name, and select the plus circle that appears next to it. The new section will appear as an option in the drop-down, where you can select it to apply it to the item.
- Select the plus square to add the item to the list. (You can also press the enter key.)
- To edit an item after adding it, just select the item to open a slide-over. When you’re done editing, select Update.
Sharing a Wish List
- Go to the wish list you want to share.
- Select the chain icon next to the list’s name to copy the public link into your clipboard.
- Paste the link into a text message, email, or anywhere else you want to share the link. Anyone with this link can access the public version of that wish list. This means they can view and check off items (but not edit them).
Tip: To share multiple wish lists at a time, try creating a wish list using the public links of all the wish lists you want to share, then share that list’s public link.
